Internet Speed Test

Run a short transfer to estimate how quickly this browser exchanges data with the website's server. Results reflect this server's location and load as well as your connection.

Download—Mbps
Upload—Mbps
Response—ms

Uses this site's server; results vary by server location and load.

This test transfers generated data to and from this site's server. It is an estimate, not an ISP certification.

Understanding the result

Download and upload are short transfer-rate estimates in Mbps; Response is one HTTPS round-trip in milliseconds. They describe this browser's path to the DeviceTestRoom server at that moment.

How to use this tool

  1. Close large downloads for a cleaner sample.
  2. Run the test and keep the tab open.
  3. Compare results at different times if speeds seem inconsistent.

Troubleshooting

  • Pause large transfers, VPN changes and cloud backups, then repeat the test.
  • If the test fails, check connectivity and try again after any proxy, firewall or server interruption has cleared.

Browser and device limitations

A short single-server test cannot certify an ISP plan, Wi-Fi capacity or performance to every service and location.

Common questions

Why is the result different from another speed test?

Tests use different servers, distances, data sizes and connection paths.

Does the upload test send my files?

No. It uploads generated bytes, not files or personal data.

How much data does one run use?

The current test downloads about 3 MB and uploads about 2 MB, plus small request overhead.
