Multi Touch Test

Place two or more fingers on the pad. Each active contact appears as a numbered circle, and the peak count stays visible.

Place two or more fingers here

A mouse usually produces one pointer. Browser gestures may intercept some multi-finger movements.

Understanding the result

Each numbered marker is an active pointer contact. Highest count records the largest number of simultaneous contacts delivered during the session.

How to use this tool

  1. Open the test on a touchscreen.
  2. Hold several fingers on the pad at once.
  3. Lift them and check the highest simultaneous count.

Troubleshooting

  • Place fingers well inside the pad and hold them briefly so edge gestures do not take over.
  • If contacts are missing, repeat in another browser and disable accessibility or gesture features that may intercept multi-touch.

Browser and device limitations

The result is limited by browser pointer events and system gestures; it is not the display manufacturer's certified touch-point count.

Common questions

Why are fewer fingers shown than I placed?

The device, browser or a system gesture may limit the contacts delivered to the page.

Does this check touch accuracy?

It checks simultaneous contacts. Use Touch Screen Test to trace areas that miss touches.

Why does pinching move the page instead?

The browser or operating system may reserve that gesture before all contacts reach the test area.
